Since owner / manager Jon Dahl's first trip here with the legendary Kingsley Holgate on the Afrika Odyssey trip in 1993 , the Uganda tourism industry has developed at a very steady rate and Nile River Explorers has led the way in adventure tourism.

The White Nile offers possibly the best grade 5 white water rafting in the world, but we offer experiences on the Nile that allow every level of thrill seeker and every age group a chance to enjoy this beautiful river.

Equipment & Safety Standards Over 15 years of operating excellence have seen us take more than 50,000 visitors safely down this river. Our self enforced operating procedures are complemented by strong management and highly experienced guides. In the absence of any national governing body, our management initiated the formation of the peer review safety body, Jinja Adventure Safety Association. We continually bring international trainers to update our staff, and offer these trainings to other local companies as a service . All of our equipment meets and exceeds international safety standards and is checked and replaced regularly.

Amazing time rafting with you guys at the weekend - every upper body muscle seems to be aching today and I swallowed half the Nile - but loved every second! I was really impressed with how well organised, knowledgeable and safety conscious the team were, but without compromising on the adrenaline rush. Good work. Awesome pictures too!

I just wanted to thank-you for a fantastic experience. I have just returned from my holiday to Uganda - the Nile rafting I did on 31st July was truly amazing. It was a brilliant day, well organised, and I have recommended it to numerous friends as a must-do lifetime experience. The day was nothing short than simply awesome. I have to congratulate you. The organization of rafting was perfect. We are really demanding clients (we are aware of that fact) and we had some experience (rafting in Europe – France, Slovakia, Turkey), on Borneo. We had to admit – you are the best. High level of adrenalin, but also high level of security, super atmosphere, now wonderful films and photos. It was amazing experience, thank you.
