FAQs - Explorers River Camp
|Do you change money?|
|Although we can accept payment in foreign currency we do not have a license to change money. There are numerous banks in Jinja town that will change money for you.|
|How do I get to and from Jinja town?|
|Boda boda's are readily available outside both Explorers Backpackers and Explorers River Camp. Alternatively, our vehicle departs the River Camp at 08.30 every morning and returns at approx 12.30, 16.00 & 18.00.
Please note the 08.30 departure is predominately for people rafting that day so if you would like to use this transport please let the office know so that we can arrange extra vehicles if required.
|Do you provide safe deposits in the rooms?|
|No but you are more than welcome to leave your valuables in the safe at our River Camp office.|
|What hours is the internet available?|
|WiFi is available in the bar area 24/7 however if you do not have your own computer public internet is available in the River Camp office during office hours 08.00 - approx 21.00.
Please note: Internet access can be erratic in Uganda so although we make every effort to ensure this facility is available to you, access is sometimes beyond our control.
|Are there laptop, camera and phone charging facilities?|
|Charging facilities are available in the bar and office area free of charge, however we would recommend that you do not leave your valuables unattended while charging. If you do need to leave them please ensure that you give them to the bar or office staff on duty to charge behind the counter.|
|How many beds are in a dorm?|
|The dormitories range from 4 - 8 beds in each.|
|If I am camping do I need my own tent?|
|Do you provide a towel?|
|Towels are provided in the safari tents & double rooms only.|
|Can we swim in the river?|
|We have created a beach area below the campsite which is safe for swimming however we recommend you do not swim beyond the buoys as the current becomes quite strong.|
