Safaris in Uganda
Uganda, The Pearl of AfricaUganda truly is the Pearl of Africa, with the largest mountain gorilla population in the world, a host of primates including chimpanzees, the magnificent Murchison Falls, un-crowded game parks with myriad of water ways from which to view wildlife and of course the River Nile traversing its length. No other country in Africa can offer you such a diversity of mother nature. Quite frankly, if Walt Disney had created a nature theme park, it would be Uganda!
Nile River Explorers has teamed up with some of the best operators in Uganda to give you a selection of scheduled group camping safaris and private safaris to suit all budgets and needs. With such a wide range of safaris available we have highlighted a select few, but any or all of these destinations can be combined to make the Ugandan adventure you’re looking for.
Jinja is just a short 1½ hrs drive from Kampala so a visit to our home base, the Source of the Nile, can be included either before or after your safari.
Murchison Falls NP Express
Uganda’s largest national park is named after it's spectacular falls, where the longest river in the world, subdued by its counterparts in nature, is forced through a 6m gorge to plummet 43m to the rocks below and becomes a broad placid stream that supports an amazing array of wildlife.
Gorilla Express
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP is home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Looking deep into the expressive eyes of these gentle giants is surely the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that not only Uganda but anywhere has to offer.
Queen Elizabeth NP Express
Straddling both Lakes George and Edward, Queen Elizabeth NP is an exceptional park for game viewing and is undoubtedly the most popular park in Uganda. It supports 95 different species of mammals including 9 primates and 650 species of birds.
Primate Adventure
Forget 'The Big Five' , Uganda offers you 'The Big Seven'! Not only the chance to see lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and more hippo's than you can count, but also spend time with two of our closest relatives, chimpanzees & gorillas. All in one amazing 5 day safari!
