Accommodation

- COMFORT CAMPING: Large walk in tents include lanterns, duvets, pillows, foam mattresses and camp stretchers. These lightweight and easy to erect tents are 3 metres long, 3 metres wide and 1.8 metres high allowing two full camp beds, luggage and standing height.
- COMFORT CAMPING & CHALETS: For those who choose the mixture of comfort camping and chalets there is a selection of budget and mid-range tented camps and chalets in beautiful locations. Please understand the accommodation on this tour is simple and comfortable in nature but is not luxury lodging. Many of the lodges run on eco principles. There is however one night in the itinerary where Comfort Camping is a necessity.

Safari Grading

| MODERATE / DIFFICULT: Suitable for anyone who is physically fit and actively mobile, gorilla tracking is a strenuous activity and the length of the track can be anything from 3 to 8 hours in mountainous terrain. That is why they are called Mountain Gorilla’s! |
Gorilla & Chimp Tracking
|
- Please note that gorilla tracking is a strenuous activity and one should be physically fit to enjoy this tour.
- Minimum tracking age for gorilla tracking is 15 years, minimum age for chimp tracking is 13 years.
- Anyone with signs of communicable diseases will NOT be allowed to track.
- While possession of a gorilla or chimp permit is a 90% guarantee of tracking and sighting, the quality of the tracking cannot be guaranteed, they are after all, wild animals.
- Maximum time allowed with the gorillas will NOT exceed ONE hour.
- For gorilla tracking we strongly recommend the following: Rain poncho (lightweight), long-sleeved shirt & long trousers for protection, sturdy hiking boots, leather gardening -type gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent and any necessary medications must be brought by yourselves either from your home town or from Kampala.
- For chimpanzee tracking you will again be tracking in the forest and although tracks are established you will still require appropriate attire; long trousers, good walking shoes or boots etc, and a rain poncho is always handy just in case.
- Still cameras and video cameras are allowed however flash photography is not.
- Please note that gorilla & chimp tracking are date specific, so you will need to advise exact dates of travel for us to go ahead and advise availability. Permits are only purchased upon receipt of your deposit, after confirmation from you.
- Gorilla & chimp permits are booked on a "first come first served" CASH basis and therefore can be purchased by others. Please make a decision as soon as you can in order to avoid disappointment.
- On confirmation, please advise full names as they appear in your passports, nationality passport number and date of birth.
